Omotola Jalade finally speaks on tax mess
– Omotola Jalade debunks tax evasion allegation on Tuesday, April 12
– This is on the ground of her recent #DontPushMe campaign she started over poor power supply in Lagos state
– The actress is alleged to be a tax defaulter
Due to the information that leaked out on Monday, April 11,
about top Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde not paying her tax, the
screen diva has come out to debunk such rumour. The Nollywood actress put
herself in the spotlight during her campaign on the state of the nation which
she tagged ‘#DontPushMe’, on Twitter.
In her social media war with the Nigerian
government, she tweeted that after paying her tax the Lagos state government
should refund all she has spent on road, fuel and power supply.
According to E24-7, Omotola does not pay taxes at all. This
was revealed to the magazine by a source at Lagos state Internal Revenue
Service (LIRS) who said the multiple brand ambassador has never filed her
personal income tax return papers, an offence against the state so there is no
money to be refunded to her. Reacting to the allegation levied against her, Omotola
Jalade’s representative on Tuesday, April 12, disclosed to Pulse that everyone
should disregard such information as it is a false accusation. They said: “That
is not correct at all, we will send out a press release very soon. We are
working with the government to find out who released that article.” Other
celebrities who have voiced out their opinion against the state of the nation
in recent times include Uche Jombo, Joseph Benjamin, Eedris Abdulkareem among
others.
